Fujifu/wisteria fabric

fuji6.jpg Fujifu is the wisteria textile. Mr.Masao Koishihara restored the technique of Fujifu, which was once in danger of disappearing. He passed on the traditional culture to his son, the next generation. Their works have been exhibited in France, Belgium, Italy and Britain, attracting so many professional designers of the fabric. Yushisha is only one company in Tango, Kyoto Prefecture to make this fabric. They hope to pass this traditon on throughout Japan and even to the world.
The clothes and fabrics used in the everyday life of the Japanese people have been made from common plants like Fuji-wisteria.
